Before buying an organizer, measure the space properly
A cabinet may look large on the outside but have less usable space inside. Hinges, pipes, or doors can prevent an organizer from sliding even if the exterior measurements seem sufficient. This guide helps you check without spending money.
1. Measure the interior width at several points
Use a tape measure and note the clear width at the back, in the center, and near the door. Use the smallest usable measurement. If there are protruding hinges, take the measurement accounting for that obstacle.
2. Check the available depth
Measure from the inside of the closed door to the back wall. Make sure the chosen organizer can enter and exit completely without hitting the door, other shelves, or handles.
3. Consider the height and the objects
Usable height is not just the height of the opening: you also need space to remove a jar, a bottle, or any object from the top level. First, think about what you want to store.
4. Look for obstacles and fixings
Look for outlets, pipes, hinges, frames, and uneven surfaces. Check if the system requires screws, rails, or a rigid base. Check the product page for the maximum load and type of installation.
5. Write down these five measurements
- Minimum interior width.
- Clear depth with the door closed.
- Usable height.
- Opening or extraction clearance.
- Space occupied by obstacles and hardware.
CasaClave tip: do not buy an accessory based solely on a photo. Compare your measurements with the dimensions and features shown on the product page. Shopify will show the final price and available delivery options for your cart and destination before you confirm the order.
If you are comparing options, use our measurement guide to write down the opening's details. The CasaClave catalog already features kitchen, bathroom, and organization accessories. You can view the kitchen accessories and check measurements, variants, and shipping before buying.
